Dear Bill Gates,
I would like to send you a picture of another painting by my father from the 1950s. The painting itself is in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. But I have a sketch of it, which I am sending you. The painting is called «Portrait of a Student.» It depicts a 15-year-old student of the Mechanics and Mathematics Department of Moscow State University on the roof of the university after its construction. The mathematics student’s name was Nikolai Khristovich Rozov, who later became one of the deans of this Moscow university. I met him about ten years ago (there are photographs). He is no longer with us, but the painting remains from his youth. Please, dear observers, my father pointed out that Nikolai Khristovich (Khristovich is a Bulgarian name) has his arms spread out, like Christ’s.
Many people, both male and female, really like this sketch of the mathematician Khristovich, but I am not selling it.
Sincerely, Alexander
